As Barn Manager, she is here to raise the daily standard: individualized care, eyes on every horse, clean systems,

and a barn that runs with consistency — so the trainers can train and the horses can do their jobs feeling well.

Our Story

"What’s the story horse“?” is an Irish saying that is used to ask a friend “what’s up” and invite them to share how they have been doing. This name not only represents the fun, friendly, caring, and supportive community that Story Horse Farm wishes to foster, but is meaningful to Co-owner Charles Sanvik, and his family. His mother, Connie Sanvik, was an avid rider, and his children carry on the love of riding. It is this passion for horses and riding that led to the creation of Story Horse Farm. Charles and his daughters have a tie to Ireland through their late wife/mother who was Irish. Story Horse Farm was named to honor their Irish heritage. Also, Story Horse Farm imports horses from Ireland for lease and sale.

Competitive Program

While seeking to grow all students' capabilities at Story Horse Farm, we have a particular specialty in training individuals for competitions and shows. Whether your goal includes local, regional or national competitions, the staff has the capabilities to ready students for these experiences. The Trainers are high level competitors in their own right. Story Horse Farm participates in all levels of shows; from our local Red Pines circuit to the AA shows like HITS Chicago, Summer in the Rockies, and WEC Ocala winter circuit, and much more.
